Events

Throughout the year, several special events occur that are valuable additions to the ”Scout’s experience”:

  • Jamboree: National Jamboree is held every four years in Virginia, near Washington DC. The most recent Jamboree was in July 2023; the next one is TBD
  • Winter Survival: To sharpen winter survival skills. Usually scheduled during the 3-day MLK weekend in January.
  • Scouting For Food: An annual Scout led effort to collect non-perishable foods for local food banks. In 2015, Troop 112 collected over 12,000 pounds of food.
  • Scout Month: February is Scout Month, celebrating the anniversary of the Scouting movement (February 8th).
  • Scout Sunday: Scout Sunday is next scheduled for March 24, 2024. Scout Sunday is an opportunity for churches to recognize the value of Scouting and an opportunity for the Scout to offer appreciation and service to his church. The uniform for Scout Sunday is full Class A, with sash.
  • Memorial Day Flag Ceremony at KohlerLawn.  Troop 112 has been blessed to be the exclusive Troop for the City of Nampa Memorial Day Flag Ceremony each year.  Participation will count for service hours.
