  • The Troop marched into Bruneau on their first day. The adults dropped all the Scouts and their backpacks off about a mile out from camp while they drove the vehicles and the tents to the designated campsite. When the boys arrived, they finished set-up and enjoyed their dinner.

The morning was disrupted by Doug H's bugle. He played at 0630. After a good healthy breakfast, the younger boys mapped out their five mike hike for the day. It can be really tricky on metal tables. After the hike was done, the Troop perfected their compass skills in a min-compass challenge. They broke into teams and competed in a knot relay. Those that needed their Fireman Chit earned it.

When the sun was going down, everyone gathered around the campfire as Doug performed his Red Skelton impersonation and taught everyone the words to "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park". After everyone had a few laughs it was time to retire flags. Luckily the boys had practiced their flag skills earlier in the day. The next morning Isaac preached a sermon. Afterwards everyone packed up and went home.
